But my re-rolling sucess got me thinking. What IS a really good LK map anyway? I've read most of the awesome LK threads, but as far as I know there is only information concerning the general map layout and average run times. No pictures of actual maps.
So here is my new map:

It takes exactly 12 teleports from the WP to the last chest. Another 4 to return to the WP. It's certainly my best map so far, but I have no idea if it's possible to improve it even further. Hence I'm very interested to see similar screens from other players running LK.|||i do not have any lk runner at the moment so no maps there.
but with 1.13 you can enter the hell by pressing "h" and nightmare by pressing "n". They are close in keyboard so still chance to miss press but i guess it is lower than the miss clicking chance.|||Quote:

"TheMuttonExplosion just died from a major facepalm. His deeds of valor will probably be forgotten."|||"H" and "N" are close on the keyboard, so that's only a minor help in my opinion. But you can always open the task manager and kill the process "game.exe", which will kill the game preserving your previous seed.
That map is very good. Try both clockwise and counterclockwise routes. See which one is better.
This thread has some nice discussion about maps. I'm all for circular, personally.|||Oh, killing the game before it saves never occurred to me.
My previous maps were not suited for circular, but on this one I'll certainly try it. Running through Kurast has a nice flow that I've gotten used to though.|||An interesting topic indeed! I've lost too many maps to remember but I've also regained tons of new good ones. Yours is pretty close to perfect I would say. Maybe if you moved the topmost hut-combo, and put it exactly below the other huts (below as we see it on the map) I think it would require 2-3 teleports less on the huts and then only 1 teleport to WP.
Personally I think what matters is getting one that you can comfortably do <20 seconds over and over again for 9000 times. I Remember doing sets of 100 runs focused and averaging 16 seconds sometimes with a great circular map. I like circular maps as they are so easy to get the"automode" on. Those last 2-3 seconds of improvement may help to edge towards this comfort and so on but not superimportant.
And you are totally right about being confident in LK vs. Trav when to see what stuff drops.

The FAQ covers pretty much all questions, except new patterns for 1.13.
