Introduction
Hear ye, hear ye! A tournament will be held, a tournament like no other; there will be sweat, there will be tears and there will be blood. Axes shall be broken, spells shalt be cast and people who you once called friends will offer no mercy and ask for none in return. If all this doesn't scare you then you are ready to show your worth and become a number one PvP player of 2011!
General Rules
- This is a HLD (High Level Dueling) tournament, so it would be good if your character has lvl 85+.
- Each player can enter the ladder with a maximum of 7 characters. New players are allowed to join at any time.
- You may join with a new character at any time as well, but you can't remove your character once it had it's first match. You can replace your characters if they haven't dueled yet.
- You are allowed to have only one match against one character i.e. you can have 7 matches versus another player if the other player has 7 characters.
- A match will consist of 6 battles, where both players will host 3 battles (through TCP/IP, Hamachi or just post in this thread and I'll put the game up, or if I'm not here someone else will surely volunteer).
- You may not leave the match and come back with new items (to prevent equipping absorb items after finding out who you're fighting against)
- Prebuffing may be done only using items you have equipped on your character or in inventory, no items from stash can be used to prebuff. Horadric Cube in inventory is allowed.
Scoring
- Scores will be assigned to a player's character, and the winner will be the player who's character has most points.
- 2 points will be awarded to both characters when they finish the match.
- 1 point will be awarded for winning a battle.
- 2 points will be awarded for winning the match where in case of a draw both characters will receive 1 point instead.
Item and skill restrictions
This will be a BM (Bad Mannered) tournament, rules were taken from Sint's ultimate PvP guide with the additional ban on 1.07 LoH, mana potions will be allowed this time (except for ES sorces):
- No potions (except mana potions), mercs, wells, or shrines.
- No recasting Cyclone and Bone Armor.
- No minions that cannot be summoned in town with the exception of Decoy.
- No Holy Freeze, Decrepify, or Bone Prison.
- No mass slow (>10%), no mass poison from items (>200), no mass replenish (>25).
- No curse charges (this includes Slow Missiles). Chance to cast is acceptable.
- No overabsorb. Limit 2 items per element with the ban on Rising Sun, Black Oak and 1.07 LoH.
Time
This tournament begins now, and will last until the interest in it fades (~2 weeks after the last post in this thread) when we will announce the winner.
Prizes
I received a PM from a well respected and known forumite who offered to donate a number of rare and (extremely) valuable items, but he asked that his identity remains a secret. I will also include items of my own to these stashes. Winners will be very pleased when they find out what's in the stashes.
First prize will be given to the winner, and the second prize to the highest ranking PvP newcomer.

I'll be available tonight, but from 22:00-00:00 I'll be away (Melbourne timezone)|||My time has been sorely divided between the Mini-MFO, getting my char ready for this, and starting a new job. But I will be around tonight and tomorrow night, and I should be able to take you up on some duelling, Darkoooo. Just keep posting when you're available!
I need to point out that I can't host by TC/IP, but I may be able to via Hamachi. So far I've not had the chance to test Hamachi. We'll see.|||Code:
