Is there a program to test builds?

I basically want to play around with the end result of a build and see whether or not it's effective. I don't suppose there's a simple program for that? Instantly have a character maxed and manually add whatever equipment needed to give it a spin.

I never understood why they made ladder exclusive runewords not available in single player, but that's for another time.

If not, what tools should I be using?

Thanks.

The only character builder tester which we accept is Charsi. Reading your phrase "add whatever equipment needed to give it a spin.", it sounds like you want something which is not accepted here. Thyiad.|||Quote:

Sure there are programs that do that. Google is your friend. The SPF however, is not your friend in this endeavor.

However, within the SPF there is a lot of experience about many, many builds. If you're curious about a build, ask or look for a Mat/Pat/Guardian thread.

If you do want to follow through with your stated goal, good luck, have fun, but don't expect much love from around these parts.|||Quote:

Yes: Diablo II.exe|||It may not be exactly what you are looking for but there is a tool called CharSi, which can be found here.

I am not too familiar on how to use it but if I recall correctly, you can generate items for a character you are experimenting with in the simulator. You won't be able to play with the char in the game but you can view the final stat requirements and damage numbers you achieve using the said setup.

Nac|||ladder only runewords are available in SP via the runeword mod. which lives in the stickies at the top of the forum.|||I did the brute force approach to this question |||Quote:

I could not for the love of god remember what the name of this program was! Thanks!

It does let you plan out a character (breakpoints, actual damage, actual damage with grief), but it is sort of buggy in some of it's outputs. It doesn't handle dual wielding and set bonuses perfectly, but if you know what you are doing you won't have a problem with it. It just doesn't let you play with said character, for good reason.

In 1.13 and the respec feature this really shouldn't be a problem anyways. Just pat 7 characters and you can do exactly what you want.
