1.13 - I have one Grief PB, and I have the runes to cube up to another Lo for a second. The progression I imagine would be 2x Death's (with Set), 2x Honor (Zwiehanders over Dimensional Blades), 2x Oath (Highland Blades), 2x Grief PBs.
1.09 - Weapon options are much more limited - after Deaths and Honors, the options would have to be Cruel Champion Swords (I have 2 socketed with runes/jewels already that my Frenzy Barb used to use), then my 2 Doombringers for the fat vitality bonus to be buffed by BO (which works on all sources of HPs in). I could even put my Arkaine's Valor to use on this character for a truly ridiculous BO-buffed red bulb.
What do you think?|||I think the 1.09 guy will really struggle...WW depends entirely on on-weapon IAS, and theres no way to get doombringers to the LWBP. Maybe you should look into getting a couple good bloodcrafted Colossus Blades from 1.07...with 3 sox, you'd be guaranteed to be LWBP capable...and it's certainly no cheesier than dual 'Grief's

While the idea of getting some awesome blood crafts from 1.07 appeals to me (I am not opposed to cheeze), I have not actually played any 1.07 whatsoever, so the time investment would be prohibitive for that end.
I guess it sounds like I need to start rolling some Champion Swords with chippies - am I right in my understanding that 2x JoF in a Champion Sword would reach the last BP?|||2xJoF in a Champion sword hits the LWBP, yes...as for how important it is, well, I must confess that its been YEARS since I played a WW barb, so others could probably give better insight.
I happen to know someone who is well established in 1.07 I'll look through my crafted item stashes and see what I've got...
Just for confirmation: CtC doesnt work at all in 1.09d, right?
WoRG|||CtC shows the graphic, but there is no effect in 1.09d. For the CtC on a Doombringer, you see the field of the intended curse, but nothing ever actually gets cursed.
Thanks for looking in your 1.07 stash - I would indeed be interested in seeing what you have. In the meantime, I've checked mine and found a Ruby(33)JoF and a Vermillion(14)JoF. If I roll a Cruel Champion Sword and pop those in, then combine that with a Shael'd Doombringer, would that not JUST hit the LWBP? (it's based on the average of the two weapons, right?)|||It's not, each weapon has its own attack speed.|||Robby, I expect to see 2 level 99 zons before this barb business starts!
I think your weapon progression in 1.09 will be fine. I would advise to pump berserk quite a bit to make the physical immunes go that much faster. Weapon speed is very important for ww, but I think hitting the second to last breakpoint will be good enough for questing. It won't be as good, but it won't stop you dead in your tracks. I had a ww barb in 1.13 beta that used a Cranium Basher, so I have felt the slowness!
If you happen to have any Butcher's Pupils laying around, I would try to put those into use. They are my favorite cruise-a-pally-through-nightmare weapon, and I have put them to use on a future IK barb before. 1.13 usage for those makes more sense as you can respec the point(s) out of axe mastery.
One more thing I like to have as an option for my 1.13 barbs: Lawbringer. Having a Sanctuary aura that ignores undead physical resistances and immunities is great for the undead-heavy areas of the game, and I have personally tested it with a Grief and given it my seal of approval.
PS: a 33% ed jewel of fervor is probably too good for a cruel champion sword.|||Well, I said to myself "I wants me a Cruel Champion Sword" so I wenst out and gotst me one!

@thefranklin - don't worry - I'm not putting the Zons on ice - I just want something else to work on when I'm Zonned out. I never did a WW Barb, and it's a classic in any patch. I'm already a fan of Sanctuary, and I do want to try out Lawbringer, but I don't know if it's the right weapon for this project.
I have tons of Butcher's Pupils sitting around, and I never really used one on a character yet, but these guys are going to be sword users (especially since I already made that Grief PB), so I want to stick to a sword progression and not use the respec (again, I'm wanting a side-by-side).
On the jool, what else would that RJoF be used in? All the best weapons in 1.13 are RWs.

Colossus Blades would require 2xShael to hit LWBP, the Mythical Swords would hit it with 1 Shael + 1 JoF. I could show the unsocketed swords to Larzuk, they'd get 3sox too...
BTW, this should be what the stats would be in 1.09...in 1.07 the stat reqs and damage are lower and the rlvl higher...
WoRG|||SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! Those ARE some nice swords! They certainly eclipse the cruels I rolled! So, yes, I'm definitely interested!
