Starting over?

Hi all,

Been gone a long time but getting back into playing D2. I have a bunch of mules from way back (I'd actually have to check patch version for them, I have no idea) but I've started a new assassin on v1.13. Anything I should add? (I'm thinking the runeword mods, they just add the b.net only ones right?) Should I switch patch version? (I've read the stuff about 1.07 and some of the 1.08/9 stuff. Doesn't seem to be a lot of info after 1.11 or so).

Recommendations welcomed! I also tried to get GoMule to open some of my old mules and it bombs out on them. Not sure why since it can open actual characters. Would they need to be opened in 1.13 for a format change to make GoMule happy? This is on a Mac and I know GoMule is java based but I wasn't sure if there was weird format issues...|||Heya, welcome back!

You don't find much information for v1.11+ because they were really a bunch of small tweaks for SP, as far as I know. One of the patches added merc hiring close to your level, and v1.13 vastly increased the drop rate for runes. Other than that, it was mostly small balance changes, as well as battle.net uber trist stuff.

I think GoMule only works for v1.13. And v1.13 is pretty fun; stay here!|||Quote:

Like NatNit said we generally refer to it as 1.10+ for info about skills and such. Most of the stuff was done on the b.net side only. 1.11 introduced the ubers and 1.12 had the no-CD patch. 1.13 increased the chances for higher runes to drop when a rune is selected to drop.

If you want to use the older patches without having to reinstall you could see if Trenshadow works for you

In order to get GoMule to open them properly I'd suggest opening them in the game with at least patch 1.10 or later. ATMA is the one you want to use if you want to open them without updating them. 1.10+ is for GoMule anything before 1.10 is for ATMA.

Edit: Just re-read you were on a Mac. Unfortunately I am unaware of a muling program that is on the Mac other than GoMule unless you have Parallels or wine or some other windows emulator. You could also use the multiple user dll and trade in game if you have to. You'll loose the map though.

Please read this before you go through and update or transfer anything.

Even things from 1.11 and 1.12 are kept separate, even though the only thing that changed was the addition of the no-CD patch. Each patch is its own thing, and cannot interact with later patches without updating first. Also you can only move forward never backward. Any questions please refer to Thyiad for answers.
