hi all (intro... as you might have guessed)

Hey SPF-folk... Been lurking here on and off for about 3 years I think, just never quite got round to saying hi. Found my first ever ever Shako today so I'm on a little DII buzz, and it seemed like as good a time as any to finally write my intro post.

I've been afflicted with the Diablo-bug for a while now, played pretty casually for the better part of the last 5 years (plus original Diablo before that) with a few periods of playing far more than is healthy. Still trying to get the work/life/D2 balance right, got 2 years of my degree (chemistry) to complete but never quite managed to juggle all aspects well enough. Self-control? You must be kidding...

I'm pretty intersted in the maths/stats side of the game, and like to trick myself into thinking that reading about the game mechanics doesn't count as actual D2 time.

RL-wise, playing guitar, learning to cook and looking for a summer job are pretty much eating up the rest of my time.

What's your favorite character?|||If forced to pick just one I'd probably go with a barbarian, my playing style seems to revolve around getting into lots of trouble and then trying to hack my way back out again. Subtle it aint, and it's probably one of the reasons I've never guided a (legit) character all the way to mat/pat/guardian, so I'm trying to play with a bit more finesse these days. Meteorbs don't like getting stunlocked, it seems.

Only character I've never tried is assassin, gonna have to fix that one of these days. Once the frenzybarb hangs up his primal helm I might give it a shot.|||A very-much belated "Welcome to the SPF!"

I see you on the forums at the moment, so you must post! What type of guitar do you play? I play acoustic self-taught, so I'm interested in what type of songs you're playing at the moment, how long you've been playing, and type of guitar you have!

I have been on and off D2 for a long time (probably why I've missed a few intro threads,) but have always found a reason to come back to these forums.

Are you a fellow aussie? (echidna seems pretty aussie to me!*) And how has your degree been, how's your D2 been etc? Overall, how's it goin'!

I'm with you on 5years and finally finding a shako: Never found the unique one myself...

SP is the way to go! If you enjoy getting yourself into trouble and hack/slashing your way out, you better be playing HC!

My D2X career has been on hiatus for about 18 months, but I finished my degree in June and dug the discs out - still haven't kicked the habit properly, it seems. A fresh start means building up wealth all over again, but I still enjoy MFing, so the sorc team are slaving away on Meph/alvl85/Pindle until I've got some decent gear again.

I'm afraid I'm British to the core - Knuckles (from Sonic games) was an echidna, and I just liked the word. And the guitar has, like D2, been gathering dust - I really have to get that out of retirement too!|||You never kick the habit properly...|||Hello and welcome!
