Tales of Ania, A 1.07 lvl 99 Amazon

[:1]Hi all.

So i wanted to have a lvl 99 char in 1.07 for crafting/cubing and also just to have one lvl99 before i quit Diablo.



The build was inspired by Nerminds awesome feat in his Lvl 99 HC Ama. See link here http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=736163



His findings about how powerful crushing blow is in 1.07 really appealed to me as i generally prefer cookie cutters.

My amazon differs from Nerminds in that she uses LF pimarely (more on why below) and ofcourse she is Softcore.

This char will appeal to people who tick these boxes..

1.Is the easiest build to crush 1.07 cows with

3.Is an easy/safe char to lvl to 99 with in 1.07

About the gear:

I was intending her to be a pure bowazon at first but then i also wanted to see how powerful LF was because i had read that Physical damage from the Javelin is transferred to all Bolts.

So i set out to compare LF with MS. To do that i needed a Javelin with alot of physical damage. On my first try i managed to craft the beast of a javelin you see above. It fits this build like a glove.



The goals with the gear was to

1. Reach 100% crushing blow (or as close as possible).

2. Maximize damage for LF

3. Reach a good BP for LF

4. Be able to run fast (hate being slow)

I feel that my gear is optimal for this build. The only improvement that could possibly be better is a Javelin with "Amplify damage on striking". Would be cool to try one but havent found one yet.



Journey:


Her journey to Hell cows was very easy and uneventful. She was twinked to the teeth all the way. I died a couple of times before killing Hell Baal. Have died a number of times when cowing due to "multiple diablo instances features".

the hardest part was to the boredome that using multiple instances of diablo created. Other than that it was plain sailing.

So how powerful is she?

i found out that not only does LF bolts transfer the physical damage of the javelin but also

- Crushing blow!

NOTE! for those who didnt know. In 1.07 Crushing blow scales with players, Ranged weapons does not have any CB penalty, And it ignores physical immunes.

- All elemental damage

- Life/mana leach

- Hit Causes Monster to Flee



Throwing a LF in a pack of cows will result in a color extravaganza with blue and green cows and Anias health and mana globes full. 2 Javelins would kill all but 2 or so and the remaining cows had low to slivered health, was green and running away. I generally finished them off using MS or GA.

All this made her extremely overpowered. It was abit annoying to have to chase fleeing cows but it also saved me from dying sometimes. I briefly replaces Rattlecage with Skullders but she was not as effective due to the loss of crushing blow.

This build doesnt need any + to skill really. crushing blow does all the work. I didnt try a javelin with low physical damage but i think it will work aswell.

Finds:

Nothing in terms of items.

Conclusion:

I enjoyed playing her immensly. She will most likely stay 1.07 a while and possibly in the future move to 1.13c for more cowing.

How many cow runs at how many players did it take to get from 90-99?

I remember doing them as 1 player as a zealer at 85 and was still getting aboutn 1/5-1/4 of a level per run.

Yeah effective wise the 1.09b ama will not be as effective. And also if you plan to craft in 1.07 you will need a high level char to get most out of it.

I never counted the runs. I ran 8 players when cowing. But many of the runs i ran partied with the mules in cowe level (to get 8 player drops) and the downside is that exp is shared.

If you read Nerminds post he mentions how many runs it took from 98 to 99 so can get a good benchmark.|||Well done! I also have the general problem of hoarding stat and skill points and never spending them.

Nice damage on those javelins and indeed the green/blue cow effect is quite nice in 1.07 with some poison and cold damage with LF. I liked using +dmg charms but with your javelins those don't play much of a role and I imagine your red and blue bulbs filled quite quickly with a typical throw!|||Very cool

Don't move her forward...its much more valuable in 1.07 than it is in 1.13!|||@purplelocust

I think it was found that max damage charms does not travel to ranged weapons in 1.07 at all (maybe even melee weapons not sure).

I had alot of max damage charms on her in the beginning before i found out and i didnt miss them at all when they were replaced by current charms.

The finds was posted i think by Worg in the 1.07 thread.

It was not all negative as it did make it very easy to find charms that made me survive better

How much to repair? I have a nice pair of javelins that I don't use because they cost around 65k to repair, and I go through them a lot. Otherwise, I would imagine the massive physical damage of your javelins easily overcomes the ctc amp. Unless amp would overwrite ctc flee? Hmm, sounds like something to test.



On the extra stat points, dex does not add to damage of Amazon only javs in 1.07.



@ purplelocust: Btw, damage charms don't help bow or javs in 1.07. I ran around with a stashful for quite awhile before I finally got un-lazy and tested it.



@pharphis: 1.09b java running is doable at high player settings, but it is the pierce and lightning damage that is needed to allow it to be easy as opposed to just cb in 1.07. CB and physical damage aren't carried in the bolts in 1.09b.|||Ty Franklin.

Repairs is about 83k. Most of the time i would repair the javelins only twice per Cow run (one in the middle and at the end to get fresh stack for next run).

I used bow for finishing touches to avoid more repairs and also hoarded abit more before LF.|||Good to know about the damage charms for ranged weapons in 1.07!
